January is a huge celebration of events, but there is much more than barbecues and fireworks.

There are so many ways to be Australian and Darling Harbour is the perfect place for a family-friendly Australia Day Festival, featuring the best of kids’ entertainment, including circus acrobatics, a free Wiggles concert and much more. Tumbalong Park Stage from 11am – 6pm.

Cockle Bay will host the Australia Day Spectacular with live entertainment and will kick off with the Indigenous welcome song performed by the Wuruniri Music and Dance Group. At 9pm, a symphony of light, sound and fireworks will light up the sky.

4. Annual Ferrython hosted by Sydney Festival. Sydney Harbour’s most popular and iconic free event where our public ferries in Australia Day tradition venture from Circular Quay to Shark Island and back. From the foreshore, grab a picnic and watch who will finish first.

5. Discover street food flavours of Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai. 28 Jan from 5pm -10pm, The CarriageWorks will transform to a Night Market, with pop culture and sounds of contemporary Asia. Showcasing the best produce and chefs with over 50 food stalls.
