Top 5 Sydney Photo Spots

2019-08-30

Here at Quay West Suites Sydney we have saved you the time of roaming around Sydney in search of the best viewing spots for capturing that right photo to create better memories.

Sydney is centered around two iconic attractions, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. But there are lots more to see and shoot as well.

Sydney Opera House

A recognized symbol to the world and always a must when planning a trip to Sydney. Circular Quay has lots of different angles to shoot walking along the boardwalk. During different events, the sails of the Opera House light up projecting an artistic edge during the sunset light. Visit www.sydneyoperahouse.com

Observatory Hill Park

A popular spot with locals and visitors, Observatory Hill Park offers sweeping views of Sydney Harbour and the bridge. You can reach the park by heading up towards Cumberland Street from the hotel. Up onto the “Bridge Stairs” and follow through a cutting in the Harbour Bridge and follow the pedestrian path. You will reach Upper Fort St, walk up the hill and you’re there. Can’t miss it.

Royal Botanic Gardens

It really isn’t that far when you come to think of it. Iconic postcard locations are often found by taking a wander around. Within the garden you will come across Farm Cove, which on sunrises has a spectacular shot, with the cityscape illuminated. Or head towards Mrs Macquarie’s Chair for the sunset over the bridge. www.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au

Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb

If you are feeling adventures and not too scared of heights. Why not take a guided walking tour from the top of the bridge. Your Climb Leader will guide you on every step you take with a group of 10 or so people and will entertain you on the facts and stories of this history bridge since opening in 1932. Visit www.bridgeclimb.com for details on cost and times.

Pylon Lookout

For just $13 entry ticket per adult, a much cheaper option than enduring a three hour climb experience. You will still discover uninterrupted views of the Opera House, the harbour and circular quay. Access is via the pedestrian pathway of the eastern side of the bridge (use the “bridge stairs” on Cumberland Street, The Rocks). Just note it opens from 10am – 5pm.
