Australia is gearing up for a record cruise season this summer, with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) expecting operations to surpass pre-pandemic levels.
CLIA Australasia Managing Director Joel Katz said: “Between October and April about 70 cruise ships are scheduled to operate in Australian waters. That’s well above the 60 or so that had been scheduled over the summer of 2019-20
“NSW will welcome 51 ships scheduled to visit the ports of Sydney, Eden and Newcastle over the summer peak. Together they will make 355 port calls in NSW, representing more than 700,000 passenger visit days.
